Benefits of Vegetarian Eating: We are pleased to offer classes with research scientist and university professor Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of the bestselling book, The China Study: The Most Comprehensive Study of Nutrition Ever Conducted and the Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss and Long Term Health. Presently, Dr. Campbell holds an Honorary Professorship at the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine and is on the Board of Directors of the Chinese Institute of Nutritional Sciences, the government's leading institution responsible for nutrition research and policy in China.
This year, Holistic Holiday at Sea™ has invited back one of the world’s most important and knowledgeable vegetarian advocates, Dr. Neal Barnard, president and founder of Physician Committee for Responsible Medicine and author of several best selling books.

Mind-Body Medicine: In a sense, mind-body medicine is a metaphor for holistic healing, the annual theme of our cruise. Many of our teaching staff from the medical profession, such as Dr. Sherry Rogers, Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr George Yu and Dr. Ronald Peters, view the healing process as a physical/spiritual process. Learn how to heal your body and soul while you have a relaxing vacation with hundreds of like-minded fellow travelers.
Yoga and Yoga Nidra: Daily Yoga, Meditation, and Philosophy sessions will be available with internationally known yoga master, Yogi Amrit Desai and others. We have expanded our yoga offerings on this cruise to include several types and styles of practice including basic and intermediate practice
Integrative Relaxation: If you want to experience the benefits of deep rest and relaxation, join Chandrakant Hiester for this 4-day journey of emotional release. Interactive Relaxation is a simple practical tool that offers profound emotional and physical benefits, but is very easy to do by yourself or with others in the comfort of your home.

Macrobiotics: Lectures, group diagnosis, advanced and beginner classes by macrobiotic leaders Denny Waxman, founder of Strengthening Health Institute, and Warren Kramer, faculty member of the Kushi Institute, the Strengthening Health Institute and the New England School of Acupuncture. Interesting and stimulating workshops and lectures by several other senior macrobiotic teachers.
Cooking Classes: Learn how to get started and keep it interesting with beginner and advanced natural foods cooking classes taught by some of this country's most celebrated and accomplished cooking teachers Christina Pirello, Jessica Porter, Bryant Terry and other nationally known chefs. Zen Meditation: Daily meditation practice will be led by Abraham and Bineke Oort who teach "traditional" Buddhist meditation in the tradition of the Vietnamese Zen teacher and poet, Thich Nhat Hanh. Abraham and Bineke have been facilitators at the Mindfulness Practice Center in White River Junction, Vermont. They also teach classes in Buddhist philosophy and traditions.
Massage: Wilbur May will be lecturing and conducting special workshops in Ohashiatsu, which incorporates touch techniques, exercise, meditations, and Eastern healing philosophy. Beginning and advanced classes will be offered. Wilbur will also be giving individual treatments.
Reflexology: This cruise we will offer for the first time both classes and treatments in reflexology or therapeutic foot acupressure. These will be offered by teacher/therapist Barbara Panno, who will also be giving Thai massage treatments by appointment.
Pilates and Do-In classes: Daily Pilates and Do-In classes will be held on the ship's deck. This year we have both beginner and intermediate level Pilates classes.
Recovery Panel: Hear extraordinary personal stories of courage and healing through alternative methods of diagnosis and treatment.
