Vegan Weight Loss - The Truth about Vegan Diet Weight Loss

Debunking the Myths about Vegan Diet Weight Loss

There are many myths about losing weight, even when it comes to vegan weight loss. It is essential that you have a nutritional and a health evaluation when you begin your process of weight loss through a vegan diet. A doctor or health practitioner can guide you as you create your vegan diet plan and choose the right combination of vitamins and supplements. It is also important to remember that not all vegan foods are low fat or promote weight loss. Even with a vegan weight loss plan you must choose a diet that support increased metabolism, good digestion and healthy organ function. Vegan diet weight loss is also complimented with natural internal cleanses with either herbs or supplements and an increase in water.

When it comes to vegan weight loss there are 3 common myths people often hear.

Myth 1. To Achieve Proper Vegan Weight Loss the Diet has to be Boring

Many people are surprised to discover in this modern world there are vegan alternatives for essentially everything. Cakes, pies, pasta, cookies, eggs, chicken, ground beef and more can all be replaced with vegan alternatives in order to prepare different recipes and styles of food. Of course in order to successfully complete a vegan diet weight loss plan you need to choose vegan foods high in fiber, low in fat and low in sugar, so vegan cheese and vegan cake may not be the best choices, but this does not mean your diet had to be boring or bland. Once you learn about vegan ingredients and how to prepare food with weight loss in mind you will have the opportunity to achieve your goals and still eat delicious, exciting meals.

Myth 2. Vegan Weight Loss is Harmful

According to the Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) “vegan, vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets alike can provide adequate nutrition throughout the lifecycle.” “Vegetarians have been reported to have lower blood cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure, and lower rates of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and prostate and colon cancer. [Journal of the American Dietetic Association, June 2003],” the HUHS website continues. Vegan weight loss is not harmful unless you lack proper nutrition. Make sure you eat a diet rich in protein, calcium, essential fats and iron, as well as other nutrients. When necessary take vitamins and supplements to compensate. This ensures weight loss and healthy, balanced nutrition are equally supported.

Myth 3. Strategies for Vegan Diet Weight Loss are the Same for Everyone

Vegan weight loss plans differ for each person based on physical and health goals. People with an athletic history or fitness background may lose weight more easily and quickly than people with a considerable amount of weight to lose. People who have been vegan or vegetarian before may have more discipline and lose weight faster than those trying a vegan diet for the first time. Exercise also plays an important role in any weight loss plan. In addition to changing your eating habits, engaging in a daily exercise routine will burn fat and create muscle. No one plan works for everyone. Make your vegan weight loss plan your own and you can achieve the success you’ve imagined.
